The fall holidays are great times for families & friends to get together. Thoughts of candy and tasty deserts should also reminds us that the holidays can be hard on our teeth. As we approach these coming holidays, the Staff at Northwoods dental would like to remind people to take care of their teeth. Brushing, flossing and regular family dentistry checkups are common sense for most people, but they take on added significance when people consume more sugary foods.
In just a few days, the many neighborhoods of Maple Grove, Plymouth, Golden Valley and Wayzata will be teaming with young children seeking bags full of candy. We hope they have fun, but also encourage parents to make sure children consume candy in a healthy way.
There is nothing wrong with limiting your children’s candy intake on October 31st and throughout the holiday season. Having a specific time for candy consumption and even substituting candy with more healthy snacks is a great way to promote both oral health and physical health to your whole family.
